It is reported by the Cellular Telecommunication Industry that millions of people are talking on mobile phones when they drive a car. The National Security Administration reports that at every moment 9 out of 10 drivers are speaking on a mobile phone. Although the mobile phone usage is not the sole distraction reason for automobilist, there are other activities such as drinking, speaking and listening to music may cause vulnerable and lead to accidents. But, some researches give facts that people talking on phones while driving are not less hazardous than drunk drive. One of the ideal solutions to lower the percentage of accidents due to the usage of cell phones may be installation of phone jammers in vehicles. Such systems have already carried out in some countries and some states in the USA have passed laws forcing car owners to install jamming device in their car. This is a very crucial step as it matters the security of people as well as correcting people’s behavior in cars. Talking on phone while driving is more dangerous than other distracting activities as it draws much of your attention and when a driver want to make any decision quickly on the road it would be much more difficult. In this regard, installing such useful device in the cars sounds quite logical. The use of cell jammers in every car is legal, and with proper usage of it can be very effective. And the range of activity of phone jammer is limited to half a meter around a car. You can control the functioning of the device and set to do only things that you need. It is possible to set the device upon your usefulness such as, prohibiting only texting or emailing or even all phone functions. However, emergency calls are always allowed. Mobile phones that are blocked suppress all your phone signals, but they work when the engine is running or the car is not parked. So you can use the phone while being in the park or in road accident to call for help or make any urgent call. However, emergency calls are always enabled so you will not be stopped from reaching help in dangerous situation. Apart from these, there are other advantages of blocking cellular service. One would realize that many benefits are going to exist for these and that once you use it or install it in your car, office, or home you would realize its usefulness. Cell phone jammers would render all cell phones useless. Not only would the driver’s cell phone be unusable but any of the vehicles’ other occupants cell phones would be as well. There are obvious glitches in this strategy but the Department of Transportation is already looking into software solutions that will be able to detect when a cell phone is being used while driving. Since this restricting technology is not mandated by the Government, it will most likely be left up to the individuals who want to have the technology for their own benefit, or car companies can install such devices in their new models. Washington State currently has a law that makes talking on a cell phone without a hands free device and texting while driving a primary offense with a fine of $124.
