F1 - Lewis Hamilton Wins At Belgium’s Gp And Is The New F1 Drivers Leader

By: Stephen Lars Home | Recreation-and-Sports

Lewis Hamilton, the British driver from McLaren Mercedes, took his third win in this year’s Formula One championship. He was quite outstanding in his performance at the Belgium’s Grand Prix.

Hamilton was second in the starting grid. He took advantage of the issues that Mark Webber, the racer who won the pole-position, had in the first moments after the start. He took on first place before the first turn. Robert Kubica, who followed in second place, was also able to make it pass Webber, who was now driving third.

This was by far one of Hamilton’s best races ever. He was very exact in all of his turns in the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. This edition of the Grand Prix of Belgium was a bit complicated. From the start things got very difficult for the drivers as the rain began to pour down. The climatic conditions seemed to be some sort of a warning or perhaps of a sign of a race filled with dramatic incidents and many stops at the boxes. All these might factor in to really change the dynamics of the race.

Fernando Alonso had an accident that is a proof of how difficult things were in the race. The Spaniard, who races for the Italian team Ferrari, was hit unintentionally by Rubens Barrichello as he was coming out from the first turn.

This incident forces Alonso to step out of the racetrack and access the damages to his car, and make an early pit-stop to change his tires for more humid conditions. The Spaniard lost a lot of time and when he came out of the boxes he was the last driver on the circuit. With great effort and much tenacity the Spaniard was able to move forward and reach the 8th position.

Just as Alonso made it to there most of the other drivers received an indication to stop at the pit’s area, because the heavy rain did not stop. Before returning to the track, the Spaniard was involved in another incident with Sebastian Vettel. For the benefit of Alonso, this time his car did not suffer any problems.

Sebastian Vettel lost control of his vehicle and collided sideways against Jenson Button. Because of the strong impact the defending champion had to withdraw from competition. Vettel was punished for this dangerous maneuver with a pass through the pit area.

While all this was happening, Hamilton remained with great authority in the first place, deftly playing every one of the drawbacks that arose on the track. Hamilton gave a demonstration of talent and superiority behind the wheel.

Hamilton dominated the race from start to finish. Mark Webber came in second after passing Robert Kubica who had to stop refuel and change tires.

With this victory, the fourteenth as a professional driver Formula One, Hamilton is placed at the head of the driver standings with 182 points, while Mark Webber, former leader remains in second with 179 units.

With six races to the end of the Formula One World Championship, the fight for the title becomes stronger and closer between Hamilton and Webber. Apparently these two are the ones most likely to be crowned champions as long as they maintain their current performance in the remaining races.
