Fearing You Have Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms? Stop Guessing...

By: James Troy Home | Health-and-Fitness | Diabetes

Type 2 diabetes, which was previously also known as Non-Insulin Dependent Diabetes, tend to have its symptoms develop rather slowly and gradually. Usually it takes around a few weeks to a few months for these type 2 diabetes symptoms to show. Sufferers of type 2 diabetes are more prone to illnesses like kidney damage, eye failure, heart disease, and heart stroke.

Middle-aged people who are 45 and above are more prone to be contracted with type 2 diabetes than their younger counterparts. They usually don't know that they have developed type 2 diabetes until serious diabetes symptoms occur, or until they fall ill and have to undergo treatment.

Type 2 diabetes symptoms include the following:

- Eye damage

- Urinate a lot

- Feeling exhausted

- Having a sore throat that will not heal

- Pains or burning in your feet

People often mistook the above type 2 diabetes symptoms with other medical conditions. This is because their symptoms look very similar. There are, however, times when these type 2 diabetes symptoms may not show up at all when the glucose level in their bodies are not too high.

The symptoms of type 2 diabetes are not very obvious. Because of this, type 2 diabetes sufferers are usually not aware that they have contracted this deadly disease.

Type 2 diabetes is one of the more common types of diabetes and is one of the most common chronic diseases in the world. People with type 2 diabetes are at greater risk of cardiovascular disease than the general population.

The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases states that a lot of people with pre-diabetes will eventually contract type 2 diabetes within a period of ten years. If this disease is discovered and treated in it's early stages, serious complications can be greatly reduced.

Even though type 2 diabetes can be inherited to one's children, the inheritance factor is not the only factor that a person is contracted with the disease. Other factor, such as obesity, also helps to contribute to type 2 diabetes.

Specific treatment for type 2 diabetes will be determined by your doctor based on age, overall health conditions, and your medical histories such as your tolerance for specific medications, procedures, or medical therapies.

To control and subdue type 2 diabetes, one can exercise more, consume healthier diets, and lower his own weight. All these help to fight against type 2 diabetes.
