Based in Cincinnati, Ohio -- the Bengals is a professional football team which joined the NFL back in 1970 under the AFL-NFL merger as per the 1966 agreement. Their 2008 season seems to be one of the most challenging yet as the team gets ready to face the Ravens in week 1, the Titans in week 2, the Giants in week 3. The Cincinnati Bengals are members of the AFC North Division, from 2002 until today that is! Throughout most of their history they have been part of the AFC Central division. This is a team that embodies their animal stripes as often they take to the field and producing fighting results to overcome the greatest game playing obstacles and take home a victory; even as the underdog. It is a tendency that has won them respect and appreciation over the years. Championships and Important Moments: Even though the Bengals have not won a league championship they have won two conference championships in the past in the American football conference, the first one was in 1981 and the second one in 1988. When it comes to division championships they have had a fair share of the action, they won the AFC Central division championship in five different years, the first one was in 1970, the next one in 1973, 1981, 1988 and 1990. When it comes to the AFC North division championship they have won once in 2005. According to Mike Myers (a player who was on Zimmer's first two defenses in Dallas) the team will be much better under his guidance -- referring to Zimmer -- and this year will definitely climb to the top from the 27th ranking, Bengals fans can definitely expect to see a highly improved team which is why tickets for their games are expected to sell very fast.
