Finding Niche Keywords For Your Adsense Empire

By: Andy West Home |

How can you attract the most visitors to your Adsense oriented site? The answer is simple - create a niche. If you can develop a niche with good advertisers and high paying keywords then you can beat the competition. There are easy steps to finding a niche and creating your site, if you follow each one, you can't go wrong.

Finding your niche
The key to finding your niche is to find a topic or field in which you have a particular skill, depth of knowledge, or great interest. That way you won't get bogged down with hours of research and you won't get bored writing about it. If you're struggling to come up with ideas make a list of all your interests. Include things you enjoy, your skills, and things you know about and would be interested in learning more of. Because of the number of websites already out there on the internet, once you have picked your topic you need to specify. It's no use developing a website on general topics like cooking or health. You need to develop a niche within a field where the competition is not so heavy, yet there is still a high demand.

Keyword search
Once you are satisfied with your niche, it's time to so some research to find out if there is a demand for that theme before you start building your website. If you want visitors to hit your website, you need to attract them by meeting their needs. The way to do this is by using targeted keywords throughout your text, particularly in the upper third of your website. The keywords must also be relevant to the theme of your niche website. To find out how much competition your niche website will have, do a search for your niche-keyword at Google and see how many results you get. If you end up with millions then the competition is too stiff and you should find another topic. If your results are somewhere between 10,000 and 500,000 then you're on to a winner. There are several available tools to help you with keyword searches, a very popular tool is such as Instant Keyword Research or Keyword Elite.

Writing web content
Your web content not only has to be well written but unique. Bear in mind that not all readers read every word on the page but scan the text, so break it down into bites of information using headers and easy to find key words. Use information that will stay fresh and not become quickly outdated, that way instead of spending time replacing your content you can be continually adding fresh content that will generate new ads and attract more visitors.

Building your website
Don't worry if you've never built a website before. There are plenty of free, online website creators designed especially for the novice that use simple point and click generators. You will have your website up and running in less than an hour. Despite their simplicity they still allow you to use your creativity. Keep your website simple, user friendly and make sure the pages are not too heavy on information and images.

Adding your Google Adsense ads
Signing up to Adsense is simple. Just go to www.google.com/ads. There you can pick up the html code to paste to your website. Although Google chooses which ads will appear on your website they do pick ads that are precisely targeted to your site. You get to choose how the ads will look colors, borders, placement etc. Adsense also features safeguards to protect your website, including filters which block competitive ads and sensitive content and a review process which checks all ads, to make sure they are appropriate, before they are included on your website.

Linking up with partners
Exchanging links with other website owners can not only help to improve your search engine ranking but will also drive visitors to your website.

Promoting you website
You can write articles about your site and pass them on to other people to use as free content for their websites. This will attract more visitors to your niche website and increase your chances of generating revenue.

Most Internet marketing experts will tell you that keyword research and proper usage means more to your website's success than almost any other aspect. So take your time, do the research and create your niche website the right way.
