Fire Resistant And Laminated Glass For Safety

By: Patrix Johnson Home | Business | Branding

When a glass is shattered it normally breaks into pieces, but a laminated glass does not due to the presence of polyvinyl butyral between the two layers of the glass. Strong impacts at times are unable to penetrate the laminated glass and hence its strength saves it from being broken into several sharp pieces. Places which are prone to storms like the hurricane require the construction which can withstand them, thus using laminated glass for exteriors like the windows, storefronts, etc. Following are some of the advantages of a laminated glass:

1.It is much safer compared to the ordinary glasses which can cause injuries if broken.
2.Breaking the glass windows is a method which many burglars follow to break into a house. This is prevented.
3.Laminated glass reduces the sound which enters homes through the doors and windows.
4.The solar energy which enters the house is reduced due to the presence of reflective glass in the combination, thus reducing the heat gained.
5.The interlayer has a chemical which absorbs UV radiations of the sun and thus reduces deterioration of furnishing items and pictures.

Another hazard which the building construction has to be careful about is fire breaking out. For this we have the fire resistant glass which prevents the fire from spreading all over the place. The level of protection that the fire resistant glass provides depends on the time limit up to which they can resist the fire. Some of these are capable of preventing smoke, heat and flames to transmit to the other side of the glazing while others cannot prevent the heat from getting transmitted. The rescue team and fire fighters find such glasses really helpful as they give them time to rescue the ones in danger. These types of glasses provide extra protection to your buildings and homes.
