Five Ways Voip Can Help You

By: Gen Wright Home | Computers-and-Technology

You've heard of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), haven't you? You'd be in the ever shrinking minority if you haven't. Even if you have heard of it, though, you might not realize that this is a technology that is one of the game changers. There are a lot of ways that VoIP can help businesses, but here's some ways that VoIP can help you as a consumer on a personal level.

Simplify Your Life - You already have a computer and an Internet connection, why should you clutter your living or working space with more equipment to do things that the computer and Internet connection can handle? It just doesn't make sense. Simplifying your life can go a long way to making your life better.

Reduce Costs - If you could consolidate two bills into one and have it be cheaper, why wouldn't you? By dropping your normal phone service and using VoIP over a cable connection, you can watch cable television and talk on the phone through the same wires while paying for just one connection instead of two. I'm sorry, but if this doesn't make sense, you need to go back to basic math school and brush up.

Tech Envy - Wanting your friends to envy you and how technologically advanced you are, but we're all human and it's hard not to succumb to wanting to stay one step ahead of friends and family when it comes to technology. One way to do this is to make the leap to VoIP before they do. How cool would it be next time someone complains about huge long distance phone bills you can casually mention how much money you've saved with a no-limit VoIP service. Priceless.

Education - While every job you apply for might not list familiarity of VoIP as a requirement, in today's marketplace, anything you can do to add to your technical knowledge puts you one step ahead of the competition. And with the economy the way it is currently, this isn't a bad thing. Knowing the ins and outs of a VoIP system might not seem very important, but it's a small edge you can give yourself.

More Features - While VoIP has all the features you've come to know and love with a traditional phone, VoIP offers other things as well, like easily forwarding missed calls to another phone number, like a cellphone.

These might not seem like a lot when looked at separately, but when combined, you can see that VoIP can actually have a pretty big effect on your life. From saving money to helping you adapt to the changing world, VoIP can have a positive impact on your life in more ways than one.
