Cultural events in the form of festivals take place year long in Deer Valley and the surrounding area. If you schedule your vacations well you will be able to attend one of these brilliant annual events. If you're interested in art, music, film, food, or fun; you will definitely want to plan your vacation to include a festival experience.

The Park City Arts Festival is usually held at the beginning of August. It showcases the work of over 200 artists. Quite often there is a variety of art for sale including painting, glass, wood work, fabric, and photography. Whether you are just looking or ready to purchase something, there's much to look at. This event includes fabulous food, live entertainment, and kid-friendly activities. Be ready to face a crowd. They close Main Street in Park City to traffic however shuttles provide relatively easy access to the event.

If you're visiting in January, be prepared for the descent of Hollywood upon this mountain town as the annual Sundance Film Festival begins. This 10-day event attracts the celebrities, but it is also open to the general public. Film screenings are offered at reasonable prices. If you are interested in seeing what's new in independent and international film making including short films, documentaries, and feature-length films; this is an occasion you shouldn't miss. A complementary event that is also worth traveling for is the Park City Film Music Festival which is in its fourth year and is held in January as well.

Another great music festival is the Park City International Music Festival. This event is held once a year in July and is in its 23rd year. It's planned for classical music buffs and features classical soloists from all over the country performing together. This is the perfect opportunity to watch world-class musicians perform in an intimate, mountain setting. For visitors who enjoy jazz music, Deer Valley Resort holds the Park City Festival once a year in August. The splendor of the outdoor amphitheater combined with great music makes for an unforgettable event.

Whether or not your vacation coincides with a festival; the environment is sure to offer a cultural experience that's perfect for you. Concerts, good food, and artistic expression is plentiful in this delightful mountain town. Check the local newspapers when you get into town to find out what's available to indulge your palate or your artistic sensitivities.
