Forget The Internet Marketing Hype, You're Going To Have To Work At An Internet Marketing Business

The trouble with internet marketing these days is that, while it is an honest industry to get in to in order to generate a solid income, there are so many people looking for push button solutions that we've been flooded with salesletters blathering on about how you can click your mouse three times and magically find yourself with Clickbank commissions or PayPal payments stacking up in no time at all.

Of course all of these internet marketing products have guarantees that advise that you can have your money back within 6 weeks if you can't make the system work, or if you don't make $100k in the next three months the product creator will give you $100 and that sort of thing, so people believe that the product owners stand by their product and are confident it will work for them.

The trouble is of course that Clickbank has a mandated refund policy that product owners cannot avoid so of course you can get your money back within 6 weeks, and as for those "I'll pay you $XXX if you don't make $YYY" statements, how many times does someone actually take the product owner up on those claims and even if they do, how often do you think someone gets paid?

After all the product owner has a serious conundrum if someone does make that claim, first off if they don't honour it the forums around the place are likely to light up, but then if they do they are liable to have every other purchaser who bought the product make the exact same claim as it's going to be spectacularly hard to prove whether or not they did anything with the information they bought or not.

The reality of all of this is that no matter how much money you want to make through internet marketing you absolutely have to be prepared to put in the effort, the more effort you put in and the more consistent you are in your planning and taking action, the better the pay off is going to be at the end of the day.

Take a look at some of the internet marketing people who are claiming you can just push a button and be successful and see what you can find out about their track record. In most cases you will probably find that they have been in this business for a long time and all the simple button pushing they can do now is probably down to having their process sorted so well that they 'know' exactly what it takes to replicate what is working elsewhere.

Of course in many cases they also have a list that they are constantly replenishing and adding subscribers to, so in some cases it is actually a case of writing an email and push a button in order to generate $10,000 or more, but if you're starting out with no list, no products and no idea there is no way you are going to suddenly be able to push a button and have money flying into your bank account from an internet marketing business!

Now, this all might sound negative but I like to believe that there are more honest, ethical marketers out there than there are charlatans who are simple looking to take some cash out of your pocket and rely on the fact that most people won't claim a refund no matter how crap a product is. And it's these type of Internet Marketing people that you should be looking to emulate or get training from if you want to be successful in the long run...

So think about who you are buying from when the next big thing comes along in internet marketing, at the same time ask yourself how many other of the exact same types of products have you been offered recently (any chance we're going through a bit of a push button fad?). Count the number of up-sells, down-sells, cross-sells etc you see if you do make a purchase and ask yourself why every single guaranteed money making system seems to have thousands of dollars worth of add ons to boost your income (wasn't the basic product supposed to make you hundreds of thousands anyway?).

Of course it is entirely possible for you to build yourself a quality, successful internet marketing business without resorting to crazy amounts of hype, the first step is to be honest with yourself and answer a simple question... "When has anything you've done that's been worthwhile, been that easy to do?". Hopefully this will help you to realise that the best results come from an honest days work and looking for shortcuts is only going to leave you broke and angry.
