One of the great things about the internet is that you can easily promote your business for free. Article marketing is a method of getting the word out there without having to spend scads of money on advertising. In fact, if you can write yourself, you don’t have to spend a single red cent! All you need is a computer and internet access and you can promote your business. Writing articles for article marketing is not something that everyone feels comfortable doing. However, if you can write a letter or a school essay, it’s really not that difficult to turn out a few quality articles. They don’t have to be Shakespeare, they just need to feature your keywords and be interesting. That right there is the key. Interesting articles are going to make it a lot better than articles that don’t have any real content. After all, while we want search engines to check our links, the real buyers are human beings, like you or me. Without them, our business is nothing! You can get all the web traffic you want, but if no one is reading past the first line or two, then you aren’t going to do much business, so your articles need to be interesting and informative. Another hot tip is to make sure you add a call to action. Let’s say someone reads to the bottom of your article . . . what do you want them to do now? If you don’t tell them, guess what? They’re just going to move on to something else. You don’t want that. After all, the entire point of article marketing is that you get to draw people in to your website, so make sure you tell them to go to that site, sign up for your newsletter or download their free ebook. If you don’t, they’re just going to click away. Also, be sure to write a good bio and use your keywords as anchor text. This will help you immensely in the SEO department. Just be careful not to spam. Getting banned from the free article marketing sites is not part of the success plan! Free article marketing is great, but it does require some work. Of course, you can always outsource, but why would you if you can do it yourself? Once you’re properly established and earning plenty of money, it’s fine to go ahead and outsource the writing of those articles, but until then, there’s really no reason you can’t do it yourself.
