Two of the biggest annoyances in the online world in this era of 21st century are email Spam and Spyware. Anyone using the internet and/or email knows how annoying email spams are. Same goes for computer viruses which causes a lot of disturbance for computer users. Ironically enough, the two can work in tandem, as spyware and other malicious code can sometimes use email spam to proliferate and infect multitudes of PCs. Spam by itself is a big enough problem, as it constantly fills up your inbox and makes it harder for you to use your email for legitimate purposes, while spyware is more dangerous, as it could collect sensitive information from your PC and send it back to other people. Luckily enough, there is a freeware, lightweight program that will help you deal with both annoyances: Agnitum's Spam Terrier 1.0.

Agnitum's Spam Terrier 1.0 is both an anti-spam and anti-spyware software that has been created by Agnitum Ltd. The software can cater to the needs of different users, it is very easy to use and effective. The application smoothly integrates itself in Windows Mail, The Bat!, all versions of Outlook and Outlook Express. It has several kinds of filtering options that includes the Bayesian-based filter that can be configured according to the preference of the user.

The Agnitum Spam Terrier 1.0 software is able to provide support for a wide variety of different languages, such as English, Russian, French, German and Spanish interface. The different operating systems that the application can be installed on are:

-Windows XP;
-Windows Vista;
-Windows 2000; and
-Windows Server 2003
-Windows ME and below are no longer supported by Microsoft themselves, and a as such, are no longer supported by Spam Terrier.

The supported protocols of Agnitum Spam Terrier 1.0 are:

-POP3;
-IMAP;
-HTTP specifically MSN, AOL and Yahoo!

The Agnitum Spam Terrier 1.0 software helps the user save inbox space by eliminating malicious and unnecessary email messages. The user is also able to strictly categorize the users in the white or the black list. The white list means that the senders are known by the user, which means their email is treated as trusted communication and will not be scanned or blocked thoroughly. The black list, on the other hand, is the other way around. Emails on the block list will be treated as hazardous items and security risks, and will be dealt with accordingly. This way you do not have to filter your messages from time to time.

Another great feature of the Agnitum Spam Terrier is its user-friendly interface. It is very manageable and the controls are very easy to understand and use even if you are a novice user or not familiar with computer security programs. In addition, because it is a small program, it loads up quickly.
