Funeral Flowers

By: Gen Federico Home | Home-and-Family | Crafts-Hobbies

Although flowers are often purchased to celebrate and mark special and happy occasions, floral arrangements are also often bought for less happy events such as wakes and funerals. Expressing sympathy for the death of a loved one or colleague can be done in a fitting and respectful manner by the ordering of flowers that are appropriate for a funeral. The types of flowers most popular for funeral wreaths or flower sprays tend to be lilies or roses though it can also be appropriate to order the deceased’s favourite flowers.

Funeral flowers can come in a wide variety of sizes, styles and colours. Although small sprays of more delicate blooms can be a way of expressing sympathy, many people like to purchase floral displays that are more themed towards the funeral occasion. For instance, flowers can be purchased that have been fashioned into a cross shape or heart shape.
For the funerals of younger people or children, funeral flowers can be bought in the shape of teddy bears or dolls.

Another common flower arrangement for funerals is the use of flowers in the shape of letters which can spell out the deceased’s name or relationship with the flower purchaser. For example, it is a familiar sight to see funeral flowers spelling out legends such as â€grandfather’, â€mother’ or â€sister’.

Often if the deceased had a hobby such as football or a favourite collection theme such as butterflies, flowers can be fashioned to reflect this. Coffin tribute flowers can also be purchased which are designed to be laid on top of the closed coffin. As such these floral arrangements are long and flat allowing for the placement on the coffin lid.

Here at eflorist we have a huge range of bouquets and floral displays which are suitable for a range of occasions including funerals.
