General Hospital Actress Arrested For Dui

By: Groshan Fabiola Home | Arts-and-Entertainment

On Friday, September 7 at 3:27am, General Hospital star Kirsten Storms was arrested for driving under the influence. The police report said that the 23-year-old actress was pulled over after California Highway Patrol officers saw her throw a lit cigarette out of her vehicle while she was driving along Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

Upon approaching Kirsten Storms, they noticed "the odor of an alcoholic beverage" coming from the actress' Mercedes-Benz CLK500. They immediately arrested her after she failed the sobriety tests. She was taken to Van Nuys Jail, where she stayed for several hours, only to be released after posting a $5000 bail.

Kirsten Storms debuted in General Hospital in 2005, taking over the role of actress Robyn Richards, who played Maxie Jones in 1993. Her other acting credits include Days of our Lives, CSI: Miami, 7th Heaven and That's So Raven. Storms also lent her voice for the character Bonnie Rockwaller in Disney's animated series, Kim Possible.

Moving on to the soap opera, General Hospital has recently found the man to be the face of maniacal mob boss Anthony Zacchara. Soap Opera Digest reported that veteran actor Bruce Weitz has been slated to appear in a recurring role on the daytime drama. Weitz's first episode will be aired on October 12.

Having a long and prolific career in the entertainment industry, Bruce Weitz is best known for this Emmy award-winning portrayal of Sgt. Mick Belker on Hill Street Blues. He has also appeared in various primetimes series such as The Practice, Sisters, NYPD Blue, ER, Third Watch, Judging Amy, Grey's Anatomy, Ghost Whisperer and JAG.

General Hospital is Weitz' first daytime drama series.

In other GH news, head writer Robert Guza, Jr. denied rumors regarding soap stars Tyler Christopher and Natalia Livingston's departure from the show. Christopher plays Russian prince Nikolas Cassadine, while Livingston portrays Nikolas' ex-wife, Emily Quartermaine.

"Both of these actors are locked down," Guza said in a conversation with Soap Opera Digest. "There's no covering up here. They're around and what happens to Nikolas in the coming weeks is going to be a catalyst for [November] sweeps."
