George And Co Learn From Jfk

By: Weblink Article Home | Business | Marketing

Joseph Kennedy, father to US President John F. Kennedy is reputed to have coined the phrase when the going gets tough, the tough get going. It is a maxim that would be entrepreneur George Carter holds to be true.

Earlier this year he was made redundant from his top post of client services director with a leading media company, as a result of it’s acquisition.

Like many career focused execs this happened just as he had reached the peak of his career in the competitive media sales arena. Initially the news came as a real shock, however upon reflection it soon became apparent that this presented a great opportunity. George decided to take a leaf from the JFK book and get going. He decided to set up his own advertising agency in one of the toughest economic climates facing the industry.

The first thing he did was to review his talents, and decide where to could make an impression. The second was to evaluate the right hardware and software to increase productivity. Having identified the importance of a good accounting package to drive his business while delivering essential management information, he entered a competition to win two year’s free subscription for the leading cloud computing KashFlow accounting solution.

Luck was on his side; he won the competition and two year’s free subscription to KashFlow, one of the best accounting packages available to the small business.

It’s all about cash flow comments George, Any business is about paying attention to detail and exceeding customer satisfaction. To make an informed decision it was essential I knew where the business was going from the outset. That’s where KashFlow proved to be the best solution for a start up business. It was easy to use, and had a level of functionality found only in more expensive packages.

George Carter now runs George and Co, a Huddersfield based advertising agency where he can do what he know best †producing results-orientated promotion campaigns for companies large and small.

According to George the down turn is creating opportunities for small businesses. Yes it is tough out there, but I believe that by offering innovation and creativity coupled with and a nimble but pragmatic approach I can really make a difference. With persistence, a little luck, careful planning and the right software solutions in place, a new business can beat the odds.

Duane Jackson, ceo of KashFlow, the award winning accounting software solution, commented, KashFlow was written for the small business by a small business. We know what it means to start and grow a business. The first couple of years are critical. I will make sure that George And Co gets all the help they need to get started
