Every home has something that is filling it purposelessly and is nothing but a dust collector. It might be a bright pink vase with orange flowers that was given to you a few years ago or something else that was supposed to be a home decor gift, but was lying around unused. One man's trash being another's treasure, your old home decor gift might be just loved by somebody. Here are a few ideas on how to get rid of a home decor gift you don't need. Re-gift Home decor gifts are some of the easiest items to re-gift because they are not usually as tied to fluctuating fashion trends as say clothes. That said; you still have to be tactful in re-gifting because home decor is still something personal and your bright orange vase may be an eye sore in someone's home that is based on soft neutrals and earth tones. Do not re-gift a home decor gift or any other gift for that matter to someone very close to you as they could ask you where you got it and say they want to exchange it. Do not give it to someone you like or want to impress, because your gift reflects on you. And of course, it would be absolutely stupid to re-gift the piece to the same very person who gave it to you! It is always safe to give the home decor gift to someone you don't know very well or someone you won't be meeting very often or very soon. It sounds tacky, but hey, you never know they just might like it! Re-use If you got a plate with chickens and roosters as a home decor gift and are surely not going to use it for eating, consider re-using it in a different manner. For example, you could use it as wall art for your sun room be creative, and you will get many more ideas! Donate Donate your home decor work of art to a thrift store or other worthy cause and get a tax deduction! Someone may not like it at full price but may think it will make a fun conversation piece for a buck or two. Sell on EBay Worldwide online auction sites like eBay are a good option to get rid of something you don't need and get a few extra bucks. You really don't know somebody out there might be looking for the item you put on sale. Even if your home decor gift doesn't sell, you hardly lose anything because it was just lying around in the basement anyway!
