If you are in a very good mood at a social gathering and if someone asks you the secret of your yellow smile, you are sure to feel insulted. One need not worry because that yellow color of your teeth can be easily replaced by shinning white. Nowadays the dentistry has developed enough to offer you three types of teeth whitening systems. These three options are In-office bleaching, at-home bleaching (take home whitening kits) and whitening toothpastes. All these options and procedures have varied concentration of peroxide and different application times.
In-office bleaching: This type of treatment includes the controlled application of peroxide gel with relatively high concentration being administered and monitored by a trained dentist or technician. Prior to the start of this treatment the gums are protected.
Laser Bleaching: This is an in-office bleaching system. In this system a laser is used with a whitening gel. First there is an application of translucent bleaching gel .Then the laser light is used for activation of crystals. The crystals are activated to absorb the light energy and penetrate the enamel of the teeth. This increases the lightening effect on the teeth. The duration of the treatment depends on the magnitude of discoloration or yellowing of the teeth. Just a visit to the dentist is enough to serve the purpose of getting rid of that yellow color on your teeth. This method of whitening the teeth is quick but a bit expensive.
In-house Bleaching: In this sort of bleaching and teeth whitening technique, a whitening gel along with a special light is used but there is no use of laser light. The whitening gel is applied to the teeth and then activated by the special light. The duration of this treatment also depends on the yellowing or discoloration or staining of the teeth.
Tray bleaching: This is for bleaching teeth at home. With the help of the impressions from your mouth a plastic tray is prepared. A small quantity of bleaching gel is put in this tray. This tray has to usually worn for one or two hours daily. Full whitening of your teeth can be seen after two weeks of this treatment. This treatment is common because it costs less. Moreover it is easy to use.
Whitening Strips: This is another good Teeth Whitener. The upper and the lower teeth are fitted with a whitening strip bought from the shop. One has to just wear it for 30 minutes to 60 minutes. The strips are easy to use. It also costs less. While wearing them the speaking may be slightly awkward or uneasy.
Tooth pastes: There are many tooth pastes available in the market. They do not contain very high percentage of peroxide so their effect is slow.
