Getting To The Start Date Is Always Faster Than You Think

By: Tony Goold Home | Computers-and-Technology

The world is a small place when you consider the internet can take a message and send it from one side of Australia in a millisecond. Australia has always been plagued with long distances like the Stuart Highway and the Bush, the internet at least has helped us to communicate a little easier. Websites are now going live which provide valuable services deep into the bush which in the past were not commercially viable. The transition from the offline sales to online sales is a big leap. It has been documented many times that a person will browse for a long time before making any purchase online, and this can be speeded up by putting the correct ambience into a site to reflect what the potential customer is currently browsing.

For example if you are in a gardening website you would expect the site to be green in colour, with flowers and an overall ambience of the outdoors etc, but if I was in a website that sold kids toys I would expect the site to be in primary colours and have fun shapes depicting different each of the site areas. This will create a better shopping experience for the customer.

There are many items to be considered when designing a website. There are two main sides to a website. The frontend that the customer has with the site and the admin side of the website. Orders are managed and processed in the section of the site and any errors are logically dealt with. Every product may require specific needs when being processed. For example you can't process flowers the same way you would hard drives. Processes will have to be developed specifically for each product need.

While designing a site you must try to integrate terminology used for the vertical market you are targeting, a good example would be when you are selling PC mother boards you would use terms like nember of USB connections, CPU spec etc. If a website sells print you might integrate words like litho printing or digital press, paper weights etc. This is vital if you wish to evoke confidence to the user so they will consider you the expert of that product sector. It is so important to Get it right as a website should instil confidence and present the customer with the right products and to purchase. if the website is not working you will never be told by the customer, if that they got lost in the navigation that too will remain untold, they simply will not buy anything. Always have help at hand and a good idea would be to integrate a feedback form so customers can tell you what they think.
