Good Blood Pressure For A Longer, Happier And Healthier Life

By: mikej Home | Health-and-Fitness | Weight-Loss

Having high blood pressure is not good because this can lead to heart attack and stroke. With high blood pressure, our arteries fail to expand; hence, there is difficulty or the heart to pump for blood and oxygen. The determining factor for blood pressure is the expansion of the arteries with pulse of blood. If the arteries do not expand the time blood enters, then it will result to high blood pressure.
It is necessary to monitor blood pressure from time to time. If you cannot do this personally because of the inability to read the systolic and diastolic blood pressure, then this is the right time to consult your doctor for this. Monitoring blood pressure is important so that you can take steps to prevent it and prevent heart ailments or diseases. High blood prevention activities include changing diet, regular exercise, weight loss and cessation from smoking, alcohol and prohibited drugs.

Our body needs essential nutrients to stay fit and right and these are found in healthy foods that we should eat daily. These healthy foods are those rich in fibers, iron and vitamin C.

One of the best diets to maintain good blood pressure is the DASH diet (dietary approaches to stop hypertension). This is a kind of diet where the emphasis is more on fruits and vegetables but with lower amount of meat and fats. The DASH diet includes whole grain products, vegetables, fruits, non fat dairy products and lean meats.

DASH diet is rich in proteins and thus reduces high blood pressure. In addition to this, it has cardiovascular benefits because this can prevent heart illnesses like heart attack, heart failure and stroke. Moreover, it improves the functioning of the blood vessels with an increase in blood flow which is good for the normal functioning of the heart and how it distributes the blood to other parts of the body. It also lowers cholesterol levels which is good for high blood pressure.

In some cases especially when there is sickness, burns, and trauma and after surgery, it is important to have the right amount of nutrition to have a healthy body. Otherwise, it can lead to harm and danger to our body because without the necessary medical attendance it can have ultimate consequence which is death. It is a fact that high blood pressure can kill a person because it can increase the rate of heart attack and stroke. When a person has high blood pressure, the arteries are blocked or clogged thereby causing heart illnesses. The heart cannot function well due which makes it difficult to pump the needed blood for our body. Other organs of the body fail to function too like the kidney and the blood vessels. The kidney becomes weakened and the blood vessels are ruptured or blocked; thus preventing the flow of blood to the brain.

So, it is the best practice is to have a regular check up to monitor your health. If left unchecked, then it can lead to heart diseases as well as stroke and other failures in the organs of our body. Implementing changes and solutions are the best ways to improve the way you live from day to day. If you have-not done this before, now is the right time for you to act for you to stay longer, happier and healthier.
