You want to design your own website Ok, well do you want to design it for a lot of money I didn’t think so and neither do a lot of other companies who hire web designers to do it for you. This is where we have someone who really wants to have a website of their own but they don’t have the money to pay someone a lot of money. Well good news. Some companies who have web designers on their payroll will not even charge you to have the website designed, instead they just charge money once a year for the hosting. Other than that the rest is free. Wow. Free Minus the annual charge of $120, yes. However there are other ways to do it as well, you can make the site yourself. To make the site yourself you will have to do some research from several sources so you will know what you are doing and how to do it. In general though besides the hours you put into creating the site the only fees you have to pay is the cost for you to register the domain name. You have to register your domain name which can cost from $10-$12. Another thing to know is that your domain needs to have it’s own space so therefore you are charged monthly for a set amount of space, however if you get a company like GoDaddy which will only $7.99 a month for 150 MB of space. That is a good price for a starting your own website. Just remember though that you will be putting a lot of time in developing a website if you do it yourself. If you choose to have someone else to do this all for you they will code and upload the site for you, but the prices for this vary depending on the size of the job that has to be done. One good idea is to have a local person do the job because they probably won’t charge as much as a random web designer online. A local college or university is the best bet to find someone because there a lot of students looking to build their portfolios.
