Grow Your Retail Business By Choosing The Right Pos Software

By: Gen Wright Home | Computers-and-Technology

Is your point of sale system holding your back?

So many retailers are frustrated with their cash register or point of sale system or they are unaware of the opportunities they are missing each day.

In today's fast moving world traditional retailers need to take control and focus on increasing their sales combined with driving down their costs.

What are the key functions beyond the basic core POS functions that modern retailers and wholesalers need?

The answer to this questions lies in what tools are going to boost sales.

1.You want the point of sale to include a shopping cart / online shop module where every aspect of the store is managed in the point of sale system. This ensures there is no duplicate keying or orders going missing.

To implement this and the majority of systems out there do not , the software needs to constantly synchronise product prices, pictures, customers and orders.

2.To boost sales you need to keep your existing customers and have strategies to increase their average spend.

To achieve this your POS software should have:

A.Full support for a customer loyalty program so that you reward customers and also track their purchase profiles rather than record sales under "cash sales" which provides no customer purchase data.

B.Related products functionality so that staff are prompted to ask if the customer would also like to purchase an item that is related to this product such as a mobile phone charger with the mobile phone.

C.Unique customer pricing so that you can have custom pricing for high purchase volume customer.

D.Customer relationship management including the ability to segment your customer database based on customer attributes.

Note: Your customer database is the gold of the new internet and targeted marketing era, if you POS software does not provide tools to record and develop customer profiles then change to a POS system that does.

3.Targeted Marketing involves the ability to send specific offers to customers based upon purchase history, spend levels, customer demographics and customer segmentation.

If your POS can enable you to send the right offer at the right time you can boost your sales dramatically.

Now your point of sale system needs to include full stock control, point of sale, customer and sales order management and have support for multiple stock locations and all the features you would expect in a point of sale and inventory management system.

Any Point of sale (POS) or inventory management system will have these core functions, but the items identified in this articles are the features that make you money. Do not settle for poor sales, take control of your business and change your system to support growth. So many POS systems do not have the tools you need, so change to one that does.

It is that simple!
