By: roger jakson Home | Health-and-Fitness

Have you been searching the internet for answers to your wrist or hand pain? Did you search for magnet therapy and get many offers to sell you something but not the answers to your questions? No, it has not been easy, but not too many things in my life have been, so I choose to take it one day at a time and see what transpires. Medications have been prescribed, some relatively expensive, considering our Health Insurance was discontinued a couple of months ago. Throughout this process, where I work has been purchased and they are in the process of removing and re-allocating the assets, to eventual closure.Hand Anatomy: The hand is designed more for mobility than stability. It is composed of 27 small bones, muscles and ligaments that allow for a large amount of movement and dexterity, enabling us to perform a multitude of daily activities requiring fine precision and coordination. The two bones of the lower arm, the radius and ulna, meet at the carpal bones of the hand to form the wrist. Unlike the foot the hand does not have a large bone cushioned with a fat pad for bearing weight, but has small bones surrounded by soft tissue, including the nerve and blood supply.

1st Wrist Flexion exercise- Sit at a desk, stand by a countertop, or position yourself next to a flat surface. With your palm-side up and your wrist flat, press your fingertips against the under-side of the flat surface. Keep your fingers straight and flat so the focus is on the wrist. Press firmly against the surface. Hold for 10-20 seconds.Pain along the thumb (usually of the dominant hand) is another typical pain syndrome seen by chiropractors. This is usually an inflammation of the extensor hallicus longus tendon - translation: inflammation of the tendon that goes to the thumb. This is usually of a chronic nature. Difficulty writing, picking up objects, performing fine motor skills with the thumb can be painful. The joint where the thumb attaches to the hand is the most commonly degenerative joint in the hand. That tells us we use our thumbs a lot.

Gout is mainly caused by a build up or uric acid in your blood stream. It usually starts in the big toe and becomes advanced gout when it gets into your wrist. For the most part you will need a doctor for gout, but you can try cherry juice. This has been known to help reduce the build up of uric acid.Reliving your pain depends on what you are willing to do. You should consider just doing some old fashioned regular exercise. This alone can greatly reduce pain in some people. All your bones in your body are connected, and sometimes one bone can affect another bone. This is also true for your muscles, they are almost all connected in one way or another. You will also want to find a good training and flexibility program for your hands.
