Have You Fallen Into The Quick Fix Trap?

By: Michael Byrd Home |

In our "gotta have it now" culture, too many people are looking for that quick fix. They want to lose weight, lower blood pressure, re-grow hair, overcome heart disease and cancer, reverse diabetes and even get an erection - and they wanted it yesterday. It just can't happen fast enough for them.

Little do they know, but this impatience, or need for instant gratification, is what got them into their sorry state of health in the first place. And not learning from their mistakes gets them into more health trouble when the quick fix causes more problems than it cured.

Because most of us live to eat, we're now suffering more and more degenerative diseases at an earlier age. Cancer is now the leading cause of death in children under 17 and this is mainly do to us parents letting our children down with our poor lifestyle choices.

The rapid degeneration we're seeing today in humans is exactly what Dr. Francis Pottenger noticed many years ago. He found that each generation of kittens, born to parents fed processed foods, got progressively sicker, weaker, deformed and less able to reproduce themselves. The only way to reverse this trend was to put these kittens on a whole food diet. And it worked.

It's time for us to do the same thing. We need to stop being weak and gullible and demand healthier foods. As consumers, we have the power to demand this. Stop buying garbage and retailers will have to start offering healthier choices if they want to stay in business.

But we've all been dumbed down nutritionally. Very few of us understand the importance of whole foods. And you're certainly not going to get this understanding from a Pop Tart commercial. Too many of us want our cake and eat it too. Actually to many of us want our cake and someone else's too.

We've been food blinded and waylaid by taste tempting foods. We choose sweet fatty garbage over nutritionally healthy food (that actually taste better!). And this is what's gotten us into trouble. Now we're fat, artery clogged, lethargic, cancer ridden, impotent, and infertile slugs looking for the quick fix to our diseases so that we can continue to eat the same way.

And that's the trap! Each successive medication leads to yet another one. Of all the people you know who take prescription meds, how many of them take only ONE. And for that matter how many healthy people do you know who take no medication at all.

There is a solution to this problem but it would require us to become more responsible for our own health and well being. We have to eat to live, not live to eat (think about it). This isn't the quick fix, but it works and it works well. It produces lasting results where the only side effect is good health. Why not start there?
