Raw food diets consist of small or no saturated fats or folate. They are very high in potassium as well as low in fiber, magnesium, and sodium. They are also very useful detox diets. Different combinations of juices and raw foods can be utilized for colon cleansing, liver cleansing, kidney cleansing and skin cleansing.

It can also have benefits on the environment, with less use of chemicals and pesticides by farming more organically, using more traditional farming methods, less packaging, produce being purchased more locally, leading to less transportation, which in turn would lead to less carbon emissions.
