Hair transplant surgery is very common these days. As Baldness is such a big problem for so many people, and as hair transplant surgery becomes more and more effective, it is more in demand. A modern hair transplant operation involves the transfer of about 1500 grafts to the treated region of the head. Each graft contains about 1 to 4 hair follicles. These grafts of hair are taken from a contributor strip detached from the back of the patient's skull. This band is normally between 9mm and 12m. broad and about 75mm in length, with the dimensions depending on the number of contributor grafts required. As soon as the strip is detached, the resulting scar/wound is clogged and becomes invisible to all but the most detailed examination. In hair transplant we take the hair from back of head Strip method or follicular unit extraction method also called FUE. and then transplant them into bald or balding zones. A standard hair transplantation procedure involves the removal of donor strip of hair from the back of the head from where the follicular unit grafts are dissected under a microscope. These grafts are then preserved in saline and are then transplanted on a bald patch on the crown area of the scalp. The scars in a previously harvested donor area make it significantly more difficult to extract follicular units in a repeat transplant without transaction. The scarring process alters the angle of follicles, as well as feel of the dermis. Although the individual scars of FUE are small, the cumulative scarring from thousand to thousands of open wounds, left to heal by secondary intention, is significant. The small white donor scars may not be visible through normal length hair. The fine white scarring can be seen if the scalp is clipped or shaved, a style that is increasingly common today.
