High Resolution Security Cameras In India: Ccd Vs. Cmos Technology

By: Dharav Patel Home | Internet-and-Business | Security

Dome camera has its own limitations! The image may get distorted in low lighting conditions, making it hard for a standard dome camera to function in darker areas. High resolution dome camera in India may be used in such circumstances. This camera can capture images in well-lit as well as darker areas. Sharper images can be obtained with the help of high resolution security cameras in India. If you would like your CCTV camera to perform well in broad daylight and in darkness, you may consider a high resolution security camera in India.

High resolution security cameras in India may be available in black and white as well as color. Black and white high resolution dome camera in India may have 570 TV lines and above. On the other hand, the resolution for a colored camera of this type may be 460 TV line and above. When you decide to select a high resolution dome camera in India, you also need to take into consideration the image sensor used to capture the images digitally. They convert light into electric charge and process it into electronic signals. There are two image sensors used widely in high resolution security cameras in India:

*Charge Coupled Device (CCD): CCD image sensors were the only option available for high resolution security cameras in India earlier. Though the scenario has changed now! They offer better image quality. However, they are not suitable for large-sided systems. In this image sensor, the activity takes place on a camera's printed circuit board. If the system demands change, the designer can change the electronics without redesigning the imager.

*Complementary Metal Oxide Semi-Conductor (CMOS): CMOS image sensors did not develop as much as CCD image sensors. But it is picking up pace! Nowadays, CCTV cameras use this technology. They can handle any system size, but it is at the cost of image quality. It, especially, gives poor quality in low lighting conditions as compared to CCD image sensors. It converts charge to voltage at the pixel and most functions are integrated into the chip. This makes the functions of a high resolution dome camera in India less flexible.

Comparisons cannot be drawn between the two image sensors. Each is good in its own way! However, while choosing high resolution security cameras in India, you need to consider the image sensor used in it. You also need to ponder over your personal requirements. Can you afford to compromise on image quality? CCD cameras provide clear and high resolution images. Majority of the CCTV vendors use CCD image sensors for a high resolution dome camera in India. CMOS are suitable for web cameras or low priced home security cameras.

CCTV cameras have become a necessity in many areas. Selection of an appropriate camera is important. Equally important is to reflect on the image sensor used in it! High resolution security cameras in India alone may not serve the purpose. Images captured by it matters the most. If the quality of the image is not clear enough, installing a security camera is of no use!
