High Speed Net Connections And You

By: Colin Pike Home |

The popularization of the PC has changed the way we live our lives. Well, the PC and the Mac kind of changed it together.

But whatever your preference is, you can definitely get what you pay for nowadays. For the past 10 years, most of us have grown used to having a home computer. We started pretty basic, sure, but it was all part of the process we had to take to get where we are today.

Internet service has also come a long way, and now is the time of High Speed Internet.

Who is your ISP? Do you prefer DSL or Cable? These are questions that might not be so uncommon these days. Many providers are struggling to outdo the rest and get our money. We just have to ask them 2 things; What they are offering, and how much its going to cost us. We all want the speediest internet, but sometimes its hard to choke down that high bill every month.

I am a huge techie, so I have naturally tried many internet providers. My first was Roadrunner. It worked fairly well. Then I moved and switched to Comcast. Their service was very satisfying as well. But more recently I moved again. I decided to switch toeven more high-speed internet from the older DSL I had. At first I was not very happy with it. While the connection was fast and the speed was high, the cost was higher as well. I decided to switch back to Roadrunner which was much cheaper and had the same benefits.

Dial-up is definitely not an option for me. It is a concept that should have died out 5 years ago, but unfortunately many people still use it today. They do not realize that they could pay just several more dollars per month and revel in high speeds while not clogging up the phone line. If you still have dial-up, I urge you to upgrade. You will probably be astounded at how much lower the prices are than what you thought.

Pricing is not as drastic as it once was. You can easily obtain a high speed connection for a little over double what you pay for dial-up. Although it might seem odd to pay so much for high speed, if you spend alot of time online then a high-speed internet connection will drastically improve your surfing ability. For the little extra, its well worth it.
