Holiday Parties: Throwing The Perfect Super Bowl Bash

By: Sunny Sherbourne Home | Home-and-Family | Holidays

Super Bowl Sunday is the most important sports night of the year. There’s no denying that millions of fans gather together to watch the final two teams compete for the coveted title of Super Bowl champions. And while the game itself is an integral part of the excitement, there are many elements required to throw the perfect Super Bowl bash.

You’ve sent out the invites and your guests have confirmed their attendance, now it’s time to start planning the party.

There are a few essential elements to every Super Bowl party. Meeting all of the requirements set out below will ensure your party is a success.

1.Big Screen TV. A big screen television is an essential element for any great super bowl bash. Preferably, the television should be at least 42 inches and should come equipped with HD (high definition) features.

2.Snacks. A Super Bowl party simply won’t be a party without snacks. We’re not talking posh hors d’oeuvres, we’re talking about spicy chilli, nachos, chips and other man-like foods that men and women can enjoy while guzzling a huge glass of ice cold beer. That leads us to our next item...

3.Beer. Perhaps beer should have been the first element on the list, but a large TV and snacks are equally as important for the party. If you plan on holding a Super Bowl bash without beer, don’t plan on very many people RSVPing, should you decide to throw an encore performance next year. Take our word for it; besides the television itself, beer is the single most important element of any Super Bowl party.

4.Room. You’ve got your big screen television, you’ve prepared the snacks and put the beer in the fridge so what’s left to do? At this point, the most important thing left to do is to make sure there is enough seating for all your guests. Not only does there need to be enough seating but each spot has to be on a good angle to the TV (it is a Super Bowl party after all). Consider tossing down some pillows, bean bags and extra chairs in the room where the party is being held. Making a conscious effort to this beforehand will eliminate some of the chaos before your guests arrive.

5.Pools/Bets. Betting on a game can make it more interesting to watch. Making a pool for you and all of your guests to join will increase the excitement and keep everyone interested throughout the entire game. Break your pool/bet up into quarters so it’s impossible for the winner to be announced before the game ends. There are several Super Bowl pool ideas available online.

We hope our tips have helped. Have fun holding the best Super Bowl bash ever!
