Home Air Filters - The Many Advantages Of Installing One

By: Brooke Hayles Home |

Asthma is a common health problem world-wide and in the United States alone, there are over twenty million people who suffer from the condition. While there is no known cure for asthma, there are some steps that you can take which could drastically decrease your chances of an asthma attack.

As most attacks tend to happen at home, home air filters may be the answer.

What is a Home Air Filter?

Home air filters are small mechanical devices which suck in the air within our homes, they filter it and then they send it back out again. This ensures that the air which we breathe in is as clean as it possible can be and it reduces the risk of an asthma attack dramatically.

Tobacco smoke is one of the biggest causes of asthma attacks within the home and home air filters are specially designed to get rid of the smoke, hence the risk of an asthma attack is reduced.

There are quite a few different air filters for domestic use, on the market today and you can expect to pay anything from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars. So they aren't overly expensive and they really do work. After all, what is a few hundred dollars if it means leading a healthier life?

How Do Home Air Filters Work?

Home air filters work by using special HEPA filters. These filters take all the allergens out of the air and they have been proven to be 99.7% effective at reducing the toxins in the air. Research has shown that the filters do significantly reduce the amount of asthma attacks within the home.

Not all air filters made for homes have HEPA filters in them, so you should always make sure that you choose one that does. Ordinary home air filters do not work effectively enough to get rid of the allergens and other contaminants that appear within the home. The HEPA filter guarantees that it will get rid of everything that is floating about in the air and they are by far the most effective air filters around today.

One of the allergens that the air filter can remove from the air is pet dander. This is great news for people with allergies to pets, as the dust and the fur will be filtered and the risk of an asthma attack is again reduced.

Surprisingly, there are more allergens and contaminants within our homes than there are outside. Air filters are designed to get rid of these and to keep the air clean and fresh so allergy sufferers can breathe easy.

Overall, allergy sufferers really will feel the benefits of home air filters. Having an asthma attack is a truly terrifying experience and it can literally feel like you are dying when you are having one. An air filter can practically save someone's life, so if you do have an asthma sufferer in your home, do them a favor and buy an air filter today!

Summary:

Asthma and allergies are extremely common in households across America and over twenty million people suffer from asthma each year. Surprisingly, there are more allergens and contaminants within our homes than there are outside. That is why home air filters can come in handy!
