When some one tells me that they are working on their home decoration initiative but are confused as to where to start, then my first suggestion to them is to step outside. When some one is planning to come to your home the first impression about your home would be the main entrance door and the walkway towards that door. These two areas are one of the most ignored areas in a home. Designing a proper door decoration theme and putting sculptures or planters at the entrance area sets the tone for rest of the interior. On one hand it tells the visitors that you are the person who has complete focus on details and it also generates curiosity in the mind of visitors which makes them keenly look forward to enter in your home. This curiosity coupled with a good decor inside the home completes the interior loop and your visitor would be awe-stuck even before you speak a word about your place. There are a few things that you should keep in mind while designing the door area and the entrance area. First is the color theme: Though earthen colors work well on the outside as they can withstand the elements without much wear and tear but if the interiors of your home have a modern theme then you will have to leave the earthern colors and take a bolder approach where you can either choose steel planters or steel artifacts. You would also have to pick solid colors that would preparethe user for the bigger interior design theme that they would find once they enter through the door. The color and styling of the door also matters a lot. Though a darker mahagony shade goes well with lighter color walls yet the design on the door, the carving and other style must match the interiors of your home. For traditional interior design, you can go with carvings but for modern touch leave the door design plain and put a plain bold decor piece on it to give it a unique character.
