Athlete foot is a common skin infection that is caused by a fungus. The medical term for foot fungus is tinea pedis. The fungus is a plant-like microorganism too small to be seen by the naked eye that mainly depends on dead tissue for nutrition and growth. As athletes are at high risk of getting this disease,it is called as Athletes foot.

Athletes Foot, also known by its medical term as Tinea Pedis, is an infection on the foot caused by a plant like microorganism that uses the foot's dead tissues to feed itself. Due to the intense and sometimes adverse conditions athletes usually put on their feet from training and competitive performances, this bacteria tends to affect athletes more than the norm although there are many many non athletic people that can suffer from athletes foot too.

Athletes foot is a common skin condition that bothers people. If you are experiencing this yourself, do not fret. There is a natural cure for athletes foot to help spare you the itch and discomfort.

Causes of Athletes Foot:

The athletes foot fungus is the same fungus that causes onychomycosis, or toenail fungal infections. In reality, there is not just one fungus that can do this, though a couple of species account for most infections. A group of fungi, collectively known as dermatophytes, cause fungal infection of the hair, nails, and skin.

Symptoms of Athletes Foot:

With athlete's foot, often the very first thing that you will notice is the unending itch and burn of your feet. You might find that in between your toes simply feels like it is on fire. You might even find that the soles of your feet won't stop itching and burning. Not surprising. These are hallmarks of athlete's foot symptoms. The burning, the itching, the cracking, the peeling, oh just curse the fungal invasion that causes it all.

Treatment of Athletes Foot:

1.Keep your feet covered - Regardless of where you are in public, wear some kind of shoes on your feet.

2.Soak your feet - This athletes foot treatment works quite well. Mix 4-5 tablespoons of salt with a gallon of warm water.

3.Put on some baking soda - Here is another good home remedy for athletes foot.

4.Change your socks - Do you have feet that tend to sweat all the time? Then you should change your socks 2-3 times a day.

5.Off with the old dead skin - Removing the dead skin from your feet is an important part of athletes foot treatment.

6.The one of the most common athletes foot cures is using dilute alcohol.

7.To cure athletes foot is to use apple cider vinegar.

8.To cure athletes foot is by using some natural skin soothing gels such as aloe vera.

9.Grab some clean brushes. Use these to scrub the skin in your feet. This will help get rid of the flaky skin.

10.See the contents of your medical kit. There might be an antifungal cream on stock that you can use to get rid of athletes foot.
