This is why drinking honey in water is often suggested by a lot of people to get rid of a headache. A tension headache can be eased by massaging a few drops of peppermint oil into your temples. Apparently the peppermint appears to prevent your body from sending pain signals to your central nervous system. Obviously, your headache can be caused by a number of different factors, and it is important to seek medical advice if it does not subside after a day in case it indicates something more serious.
