Home Theater Speaker Stands

By: Andrew Maule Home | Arts-and-Entertainment

When it comes to home speaker stands, the market offers us an abundance of options to choose from. Whether you are looking for a stand for your surround or desktop speakers, you are likely to find exactly what you need, at a very affordable price. Most stands can be easily located and purchased online. They are usually delivered within less than a week; some may even come with free shipping.

The first and foremost, is to decide on the type of stands that you are looking for. There are bookshelf stands, as well as floor mount and wall mount units. The unit may be designed like a poll with a plate, like a TV stand, or a low rubber holder. Depending on your needs, you can choose the one that makes more sense for your equipment. Those that come with a poll are typically less obtrusive but also less stable. They are used for smaller speakers. The ones that are designed like TV stands are much sturdier and are used for some of the largest speakers, such as the central channel.

When it comes to the materials that the stands are made of, you can also unleash your creativity and imagination. Some stands are made of hard woods (oak, ebony), others are made of metal (cast iron, aluminum, steel), while yet others are made of beautiful clear tempered glass. When purchasing a stand for your speaker(s), you don't necessarily have to look for the products made by your speaker manufacturer. You can find other brands with great quality and lower prices. Most home speaker stands will match the standard equipment made by the major manufacturers.
