WHY HOLIDAY WITH YOUR HORSE? Take the time to play! Taking time off and relaxing with your horse with no expectations of any outcomes is probably a new concept for many of us! It is a well known fact that every athlete needs to have time out from his chosen discipline. The only difference for our equine companion is that we choose the field in which to compete. Taking time to play with your horse with no expectations of doing anything else than swimming in the ocean, running on the beach, rolling in the sand, riding , or running in the forest what a great way to create a more connected relationship. When we allow ourselves a break and take the time to listen we might be surprised what we hear. A holiday gives us the time to slow down and see what is truly happening in our partnership with our horse. Does he need more varied work? Is his diet adequate? Does his body hurt? Does he choose to be with us when given the choice? Is there something he wants to tell us? Have you ever spent time sleeping out under the stars with your horse, just laying around in the paddock with him, slept together in his sand roll or just wandered around with him in his world. At home with all the demands on your time all this may seem impossible. So why not go on holiday! Enjoy a new way of being together. Have you ever been on a holiday with your human partner? At home things had become very serious and mundane. Then you go away relax, laugh, wine dine and generally have a great time together. When you come home from a holiday you see your partner with new eyes. The old passion has returned and you are ready to face any challenges that come your way as a team. Why would it be any different with your other partner, your equine friend? So enjoy the journey and spend some time living moment to moment with your horse. BUT MOST OF ALL HAVE FUN!!!
