Do you know that there are no less than 60 seconds in one minute? But according to IDT a lot of telephone card corporations just give customers 36 seconds in a minute. IDT in legal procedures against a number of their rivals announced that it is difficult to contend on a level playing field if a minute is not a minute. Last year IDT/UTA (Union Telecard Alliance) iniciated a suit against several companies-providers of prepaid phone cards attributing erroneous advertisement and misleading trade practices. According to IDT media release, some of their rivals just give 60 percent of the declared minutes to the cutomer. In November 2007 Total Call International, Inc. and IDT/UTA have obtain a full resolution of the suit brought by IDT Telecom, Inc. and Union Telecard Alliance, LLC versus Total Call. It is the fourth group of defendants that have resolved the enforcement proceedings commenced by IDT/UTA. Today there is a list of other accused comprises about six corporations and some of them are: Epana Networks Inc., Dollar Phone Corp., etc.. That pending action is being on approval in the federal court in Newark, New Jersey. To make everybody know the new telephone service terms and payment mode, one of the corporations announced the advertising information on their website. One of the characteristics he takes pride in was the ability to determine the duration of the minute to as long as you want. Another feature was to stochastically deduct a minute from your balance. Further, they declared that those standards are not their invention, but are the rules for all phone card corporations. It is true, because reviewing all the recent advertising announces you can see the same information. So when you get a international phone card for $20.00 that includes 2000 minutes and you think it is so good to be true - it probably is! Please, choose the calling card carefully to evade the possibility of being cheated. The good news is that the companies noticed above have agreed to return 100 percent of the units prescribed to users. IDT/UTA thinks that if all the defendants agree with introduction of new standards, that would be good for them, as the judicial authority will try them more softly. They should also accede to provide industry good usages and rules which defend clients of pay before hand card systems and that establish a level playing field for all companies that sell, and supply telephone services for, prepaid cards. They accede to develop standards and mechanisms for examining the accuracy of disclosures and disclaimers made in relations to pay beforehand phone cards. All the corporations reached the acceptance that every of them has to do its best to resolve that objective as soon as possible.
