The aim of roulette is to place a bet on the result of a ball spinning around the circumference of a roulette wheel which is divided into colored sections. Each slot has a specific number and color. You can place your bet on a particular number and if the rotating ball finally lands on the being number you win the hand. You can find 12 separate columns in the roulette table layout. They have numbers and slots that are used for different kinds of roulette bets. The wheel contains the same number sections which are demarcated in black and red. The color of the zero slot is green. The roulette slots alternate between black and red as well as odd and even numbers. A special ball made of ivory and colored chips for the players are used while playing the game. European and American roulette does not differ much, the only significant distinction is the use of a slot for double zero in American roulette wheel and betting zone. European roulette rules are pretty simple to understand. When the game starts the gamblers bet by placing colored chips against the numbered sections. The players can make inside bets on one or several chosen numbered cells or outside bets. These are placed on a selection of numbered sections. The roulette croupier rotates the wheel and throws the white ivory ball on the outer channel of the roulette wheel. The winner is determined once the white ball stops at a definite wheel cell. To enjoy the "King of Casino Games", certain etiquette must be followed. Players can place their bets during the following times: # The dealer allows a gap of one minute between two games during which the players can place their bets. # Gamblers may continue placing bets while the wheel spins, but when the dealer indicates by raising his or her hand to stop and loudly announces "no more bets," players must right away desist from betting. # Once the ball falls in a numbered slot, the dealer indicates the winning number in which the ball finally landed and collects losing bets. # After this he/she pays off the winning bets at the correct odds and will also remove the marker from the roulette table. With this the entire process starts again and players can place fresh round of bets. # A player is strictly prohibited from touching his or her chips when bets are taken or the money has been paid. Any infringement of this cardinal rule may find you outside the casino. # Do not touch the wheel or ball. These are for the Croupier's use only.
