You will for example need postal scales, packing materials and something to sell. Postage is easier if you have your own postal scales because you will be able to use the Royal Mail Smart Stamp online postage system. This is where you can weigh and print postage direct from your own PC. This costs the same as a stamp and is much more convenient. If it's a small item then it can be put into a post-box straight away. If however it's a parcel then you will still need to drop it off at the post office, but this shouldn't be a major problem. You may be tempted to charge high amounts for postage so that you can make larger profits. However if you try to do this then you will quickly learn that it will have a negative effect. Buyers really don't like this because they feel they are being tricked into paying more than they should. A set of postal scales will make it possible to work out the exact postage and packing fees so that you don't risk charging too much. This will make it much easier to keep your customers sweet.
