Planning a vacation by the sea?
And feeling self-conscious about putting on the swimming suit? No doubt, those jiggling arms, the paunch and body acne are the causes of concern.
Well, the gym will give you the flat abs and toned arms and legs that you can flaunt.

And if you are thinking how do you get rid of body acne, then there is a host of remedys to treat the problem. Acne is a common problem, both among teens and the adult population, and 75% of those afflicted also have acne in various parts of their body, like the back, chest and shoulders.

Tips to Treat Body Acne

The good thing about body acne is that the course of treatment is similar to one followed on the facial skin. But on the flip side of this, body acne does not respond that readily to the conventional modes of treatment.

The best advice that your dermatologist will tender to cure body acne is steer clear of tight-fitting clothes, even on your date with that gorgeous guy.
Tight clothes do not let the perspiration escape and mixed with the body oils, it congests the body pores.

The result: spots, whiteheads and pimples.

To help control acne, a salicylic-acid-based cleanser can be used daily with frequent showers to prevent the oil build-up. A benzoyl peroxide solution, but in low concentration to prevent redness, is also a popular acne cure.

Follow it up with the alpha hydroxy acid-based moisturizer that will double up as an exfoliating agent. Exfoliation with a coarse cloth or a liquid scrub can be employed in order to prevent the oil and dirt build-up in your body. Some dermatologists also recommend chemical exfoliating agents like glycolic acid to have the uppermost layer of the skin cleaned.

If you are confronted with a particularly stubborn acne problem, then some forms of a topical retinoid or a course in oral antibiotics (like tetracycline, oxytetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline or lymecycline, trimethoprimare) are good remedies.

You can expect results from as early as a week.

Hormones have been proven to be one of the prime causes of acne outbreaks. And hormonal treatment is making rapid strides as effective acne cures.

Birth control pills, which are blends of oestrogen and progestogen, have been used by women since quite some time, while the anti-testosterone Cyproterone in tune with an oestrogen is one newcomer causing quite a stir in the realm of acne treatment.

You have quite a choice when it comes to ways to treat body acne.
Choose one that suits you and a clear skin is not too far away.
