By: Gary Stephens Home | Health-and-Fitness | Beauty

If you have ever had stretch marks you probably know all too well that they are unsightly and in most cases embarassing. And the worst part is, stretch marks really come through no fault of our own! Growing quickly like in teens, pregnancy, one of the most exciting times in a womans life, or having lost a large amount of weight.

In the past it has been difficult or even impossible to remove or lessen the effect of stretch marks. Depending on the cause of the stretch marks, it can take years for them to to disappear from the skin.

Nowadadays however, thanks to outstanding advancements in modern technology, there are methods of reducing and even removing completely the appearance of the infamous stretch mark.

Recently one that has been popularized by the Tyra Banks show is a stretch mark cream called Trilastin.

Basically the claims are that Trilastin, through various means can actually promote the protection and repair of the damaged skin in a proactive manner.

So I did some research into Trilastin for myself to try and see if all the hype was about and see if Trilastins claims were worth. From research, rather than other skin firming, anti aging type skin products Trilastin actually and I quote "not only helps to prevent the breakdown of dermal tissue that causes stretch marks but also provides the necessary proteins needed to help repair existing marks."

Stretch marks are caused when certain elastic fibers that bind the skin cells (elastin & collagen) are overstressed which is typically brought on as a result of pregnancy or excessive weight gain or loss which results in small tears in the form of stretch marks.

Trilastin is a complex that actually contains high potency elastins and collagens, the same material of the actual skin itself, along with a soy protein concentrate that contains 10 essential amino acids that are necessary for the development of new and vibrant skin cells. For these reasons Trilastin has been shown to have dramatic and powerful effects on all kinds of stretch marks.

Even more powerfully, Trilastin has been shown to have effects on any type of skin. Some stretch marks are worse and vary from individual to individual because of the varying elasticities of each persons skin. Trilastin, works with the body to assist the body perform its own skin repair.

Although results are said to vary, the company producing the product suggest that within 3-4 weeks visible results of Trilastin will be able to be seen. Although the claims for Trilastin are large, various testimonials for trilastin suggest that such results can certainly be attained.
