Every obese patient who wants to get lap band surgery done wants to know how long he will have to stay in the hospital because are hospital is a such kind of place where we have no freedom than how long can you stay as prisoner. So you will definitely want to come out from such place where you have no freedom. Time of hospital stay depends on the patient kinds but in general you will have to stay 24 hours in the hospital. You will have to stay for a day when you go only for lap band surgery. If you include another surgery, you will have to stay more than 24 hours in the hospital. If any complication arises during surgery, it can delay for you. Another issue may be a latex intolerance, in which case the band would need to be removed.

If any complication does not crop within 24 hours and the lap band patient is recovering well, patient will be discharged within 24 hours. The patients should avoid doing work for at least another four to six days. Patients should avoid driving and lift anything heavy or head back to work.

It is necessary for the obese patients that they follow diet plan. According to this diet plan the patient will have to rely on drink clear fluids, like juice or broth. Obese patients should avoid solid foods because solid foods can create problem for obese patients. At the time of starting eating patients should start with soft, bland foods to avoid potential irritations. Vomiting is powerful factor that can harm the obese patients after getting done lap band surgery done so the patients should try to avoid vomiting at any cost.

Procedure of lap band surgery is very simple. In lap band procedure the band made of silicone is placed on the upper part of the stomach to create a small pouch. Being small pouch the upper part of the stomach fills soon, and as soon as it fills the patients feel full. In this way the patients eat less food and lose weight easily.
