I've just got back from a week near Spain's southern Costa Blanca coast. Well just inland actually, hiring a car and sight seeing and taking in the beautiful valleys of almond and orange groves. The sights were one thing and the smells were entirely another. It got me thinking more about perfumes and fragrances. Because I've never actually bought perfume or fragrance ever, at all, actually. Don't get me wrong I use olive soap and essential oil shampoo and lots of things that might contain some kind of fragrance. But I've never gone and bought a bottle of actual pure perfume, either for men or women. I thought the best place to find out about perfumes would be either the library or the web. After a half-second mathematical configuration comparing the two choices of information sources over time and convenience I turned on the laptop. What struck me immediately was the range of references used to describe fragrances: galbanum, hyacinth, bergamot, jasmine, ylang-ylang, cassis, vetiver, benzoin, vanilla and sandal wood just some of the references to botanicals and extracts that can apply to just one perfume! The notes too can be separated into top, middle and bottom notes. The top notes of a perfume last for about 20 minutes, then the middle notes of a perfume or fragrance last about 3 to 4 hours, while the bottom notes of a perfume or fragrance can last longer. You know, I just thought that perfumes and fragrances just sort of smelt nice, and that was it. Interestingly, and perhaps it was the way people describe the smells of perfume, but you actually get really into the idea of perfume and really want to go out and buy perfume online after reading about them! It's definitely a brilliant combination of art and science that goes into manufacturing perfumes and fragrances. I was puzzled about why some perfumes are called parfum, or scent. Actually that's the more expensive versions, which are very pure forms of the fragrance, giving basis to the statement that 'less is more.' Prices can vary wildly, and I guess for a well-known or cherished brand you are going to pay more, though there are some great deals if you can compare prices for fragrance online. Whether you are a girl or boy, perfumes online are easy to find, though the web sites of the brands can be a little too fiddly or pretentious without actually helping you find the information you really need such as price. By comparing prices and brands I found lots of information on a range of perfumes including Estee Lauder, Hugo Boss, Givenchy and Aramis. In my first attempts to find out more about buying perfume online I would advise though, that price isn't everything and it's best to get acquainted with the odours and sparkling notes described about perfumes, because comparing the scents of perfumes and fragrances online requires imagination and dedication! Thankfully my newly found passion for perfume will more than provide for that.
