Who is a comedian?
According to comedy, it is defined as an art of optimistic and finally making people laugh. Comedian is a person who entertains the people by his presentation. Comedian applies different techniques for making people laugh and entertain. If the audiences are addressed directly by the comedian then he is known as standup comedian. Standup comedy is nothing but it is a one man show and the main thing to consider here is audience response. Most of the comedians write their own script before performing on the stage or print median or web. They but put lots of hard work while doing rehearsals. It is mandatory to rehearse before presenting themselves in front of the audience and they must act according to audience demand. They must develop unique style, body language and skills to entertain people.
Types of comedians
There are many different types of comedians with different specialties.
â€Slapstick comedian is the one who make audience laugh by making silly things. This type of comedy is performed in silent mode or in scenes without audio. Charlie Chaplin and jerry Lewis are the famous slapstick comedians who made millions of viewers laughed and entertained.
â€In order to entertain audience, stand-up comedian crack jokes and tell silly jokes. Usually these comedians will perform in private parties, night clubs, bars and concert halls.
â€A burlesque comedian is the person who scorns the basic speech style or writing.
â€Television comedians are very much popular and are known as sitcoms. Sitcom is the short form for situational comedy. These comedians perform silly and funny things for making people laugh and entertain.
Duties and responsibilities
The main goal of a comedian is to entertain and make audience laugh by his performance. Comedians will have unique style and implements various techniques for making audience laugh. Some of the comedians will also do imitations. Comic sense and timing are considered as the best assets for the comedians. You can improve your performance by practicing. You can brush your skills by practicing and it is also helpful to have background in stage performance and drama. He must be capable of dealing with many audiences. Tours are considered as another part of his profession because for performing show frequent travelling is necessary. The key aspects of this profession are strong determination, persistence and love towards your profession.
How much does a comedian make?
â€In general, the salary of a comedian depends on their hard work and desire to travel and in making connections.
â€The median salary of a comedian changes greatly with industry, experience, employment location, etc.
â€Beginners in this field make little money but the successful comedian has potential to make millions.
â€The comedians working for bars can earn up to $50 per show where as comedians working for corporate performances ears $100 per 10 minute act.
â€The comedians working for clubs are expected to earn between $200 and $1000.
â€Comedians performing at college fests can earn up to $4000 per show.
â€In United States, the median salary paid to a comedian is about $32,000. The popular and talented comedians earn more than $10,000,000 per annum.
