How To Buy Cell Phone Accessories At A Fraction Of Their Retail Prices And More

By: Janna Chan Home | Business

Do you find cell phones impossible to live without but also get annoyed when buying expensive accessories like chargers or covers for a phone that cost you $99? Have you ever been stuck with a broken cell phone that a phone company refused to replace? Have you waited on hold for more than an hour to talk with someone about your phone?

If so, the following ideas about improving the "cell phone consumer experience" may save you both time and money.

Buy Accessories at 10 Cents on the Dollar

Are you tired of spending $30 to replace a simple phone accessory like a charger?

If so, use the following 3-step process to acquire cell phone accessories at a fraction of their retail prices.

1.Go to Amazon .com and type in the name of your phone. Be sure to get the phone's exact name (e.g. BG ENV 30)

2.Browse the selection of used and/or new phone cases and phone chargers.

3.Buy your phone accessories for as little as $.99 vs. the $20-$40 retail price you would normally pay for them.

Caution: Be sure you order accessories for the correct phone as a charger for "BG ENV30" may not work for phone "BG ENV31."

Try Going Through the Better Business Bureau to Resolve Complaints Intelligently

Are you tired of paying $40-$100 a month for a phone that's chronically broken? Have you requested a new phone and been rebuffed by store clerks and/or customer service reps on the phone? Why are you rebuffed? Because you're not talking to someone who has the power (or much incentive) to resolve your problem. People working in cell phone stores are good people. They just don't get paid a commission to deal with your broken phone.

If your consumer complaint is not resolved in a cell phone store try filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. That way you can talk to someone whose job is resolving customer complaints about old cell phones, as opposed to selling new phones and cell phone accessories to new customers. Most major phone carriers are Better Business Bureau members and therefore inclined to resolve consumer complaints rather than damage their Better Business Bureau ranking by ignoring complaints.

The Better Business Bureau can be found at bbb.org.

Cell phones may be an indispensable component of modern life, and yet high cost cell phone accessories and long customer service wait times need not be part of the whole "cell phone experience."
