Have you ever purchased designer sunglasses online and wished you hadn't as they really don't suit your face? Don't worry, with a few tips and a good trustworthy friend to help, it's a piece of cake! Number one, look at your basic face shape. If you are unsure, ask a good friend their opinion. Pick a colour lens to suit your skin tone, notably amber or light coloured rose tints would suit paler skins while silver or gold a darker skin. If looking for new sunglasses to play particular sports, be aware that some colours are better than others for different sports and that special lenses may be required for pursuits such as mountain climbing or snowboarding. You are best to avoid buying designer sunglasses that have a similar frame shape to that of your face. The golden rule is to look for small glasses for a small face and larger glasses for a larger face. Let's start with the curvier faces. If yours is round, go opposite and get a rectangular pair of wider sunglasses as these will make your face look thinner. However, head for a narrower frame if your face is heart-shaped. Should you be lucky enough to have an oval face, you are indeed fortunate as most of the shapes will suit you, particularly wider frames. Angular diamond shaped faces that have a small forehead and chin but high cheekbones should seek out a narrow oval shape to define the face better. A square frame with rounded corners may work, but make sure that the glasses do not extend past the crest of the cheekbone. To soften the chin of a triangular shaped face, go for something that draws attention to the eyes such as an oval shape, perhaps with just an upper metal frame. Squarer faces need to have the face softened a little, so again try an oval shape frame. If you face is more of an oblong, the shape will be balanced by wearing either round or square glasses that add width, for example, decorative or contrasting temples can achieve an illusion of width. Choosing your new designer sunglasses sounds more complicated than it is, particularly when you start to consider your hairstyle and hair colour.
