By: Janina Judek Home | Home-and-Family

You never imagined at the beginning of your relationship that you'd have to be concerned with a cheating spouse. You need to know the truth - is cheating going on? Here are five important points you'll want to be aware of when it comes to possible cheating.

Modern technology and increased open-mindedness of society has led to the breaking up of a number of relationships.

There are several ways that a person can cheat on their spouse. If you know about these, you will never have to go around asking people how to catch a cheating spouse. You will be able to judge on your own when there is a change in your spouse and it is time to beware. Here are some of the more common things to take note of when it comes to catching a cheating spouse:

1. When spouses are cheating, they often act distant and irritable. They often lose interest in the activities you used to do together, plus they are more easily upset. This is because of the stress that comes along with having to hide the extramarital affair. It's not uncommon for a cheating spouse to get upset and mad which gives them the perfect opportunity to storm out of the house.

2. The time spent on computers will increase without any kind of explanation. The Internet has a large number of websites offering services to help people meet other for coffee, dinner and other things. A spouse who is cheating may be spending large amount of time on the computer, mostly when the partner is asleep. If you ask your spouse about their online activity chances are if they are cheating they will avoid answering a direct question, immediately go on the defensive or make an excuse. They may also make it a point to delete their website search history.

3. Phone communications are frequently one of the first sign that indicate a cheating spouse. They become unusual and raise suspicions. The cheating spouse is speaking in a whisper or quickly hangs up. If you question about who called or whose number is there on the caller ID, the cheating spouse dodges the question or deletes the number immediately in order to avoid detection.

4. Cheating spouses start behaving differently and develop interests that are unusual to them. One example - a guy who takes in sports every Sunday afternoon is all of a sudden interested in water color paintings. A woman on the contrary, who does not have any kind of interest in sports, may suddenly start learning and taking interest in a particular sport.

5. Money also becomes an issue. The faithful spouse will notice the names of new vendors in the credit card listing. The cell phone calling plan may have been changed and the amount being deposited into a joint account may also have been reduced due to new expenses.

It is necessary to understand that the behaviors mentioned above should be looked at objectively in case you suspect your spouse to be cheating on you.

It is possible that the credit card statement has something unfamiliar and your spouse is behaving evasive because the expense made is for a surprise birthday or holiday gift. It is important to act responsibly when trying to understand the signals of how to catch a cheating spouse.

Avoid the urge to jump to conclusions. Rational decision making and giving the benefit of the doubt can help save a lot of relationships whereas being suspicious and doubtful all the time can ruin your relationship.
