At the very end of your article there is a section called the Resource Box. It comes directly after the last paragraph of your text. In some circles it is referred to as the Authors Bio Box. This box is very important in promoting you and your business, so a great deal of thought should go into its completion. When I initially started writing articles, I was entering way too much information in this area. Someone very kindly pointed out to me that this wasn't meant for me to write my life history. If people wanted to find out more about me they could check my bio information elsewhere. After researching the subject of Resource Boxes, it became evident to me that the main purpose of this box was to motivate the reader to take action. For the majority of you, that action would be for them to click on the link provided and visit your website. You have written the article for the reader, but the Resource Box is for you. The following information should be included in the Box: * your name * a brief history of your background * your current employment * an invitation to take action (visit your website) If you take a look at the Resource Box I have at the end of this particular article, you will see that these have all been included in a very short paragraph. The reason people are reading your article to to acquire some information that they had been seeking. They were not searching for information about you. However, here in the Resource Box you are giving them the opportunity to get you know you better, by visiting one of your websites. Hopefully, they have enjoyed the information you have provided and will be interested to know what else you might have to offer. You have to be willing to devote nearly as much time to creating your Resource Box as you did to your article. The truth of the matter is, your business is not going to grow at all from your article writing, if you cannot get the reader off that page and onto your website. You might even be on the front page of Google with your article but that is going to do nothing for your business if you cannot capture their attention and interest enough to get them clicking on your link. You have put so much effort into writing a great article, so please don't forget this very important step. You are usually allowed to have two links in your Resource Box. If you attempt to put more than that in, the article directory will have to modify the content, and that might end up giving you a problem. My feeling is that two links are quite sufficient. We are talking about just one paragraph here. Most of the time both of my links go directly to my website but there are times when I use one for my website and one for my social networking sites, such as YouTube or Facebook. This way, people can get to know me better. The Resource Box gives you a great opportunity to reach out and connect with your readers. Please make sure you take full advantage of this and then you can just stand back and watch your business grow!
