How To Easily And Inexpensively Add More Value To Your Ebook

By: Michael Senoff Home | Business | Marketing

One of the most frequently asked questions I get about Internet marketing is whether or not someone should sell their product as a digital product or ebook people can just download or be emailed -- or a physical product that has to be fulfilled and shipped out by regular postal mail.

Which one is better? Which one is more profitable? Which one makes for a better business?

My answer:

Mix it up.

For example, I've got several different products. Some are digital ebooks and audio files, some are physical. And I have this rule of thumb I've developed after a lot of trial and error where anything under $100 can be digital and anything over is physical.

For example, I have one product that was selling digital for $297. I got a lot of sales...but about a 50% (or more) refund rate!

Since turning it physical -- putting the main manual in a binder and putting all the audio on a series of physical CD's -- the refund rate has practically vanished. On the other hand, I have found when I keep the digital products below $100 I have virtually no extra refunds.

Now, I can't guarantee this will be the same for everyone, but this has worked for me and is certainly worth testing if you are struggling with whether or not you want to go digital or physical.

If you would like to double or triple the profits your ebooks bring in then this article will show you how.

If your product is an ebook, one of the best ways to add value to it is to simply supplement it with audio. It can be you reading your ebook into a recorder, and/or it can be my personal favorite way which is to interview an expert and record them.

In my opinion, providing both written and audio material is the best of both worlds. The two formats satisfy customers who like to read as well as people who find audio a more convenient way to absorb your message.

Now, while it only takes you a few hours to do all this, it lets you beef up the content of your ebook and charge a lot more money for it.

Why?

Because this audio is added value for the customers who buys your book.

Instead of having to sit down and read and focus on it an ebook, or print it out, if they have it on audio and they can burn a CD, they can listen to it in their car, while doing housework or anywhere they can access a radio or walkman.

Whatever the case may be, you're making it more convenient for your customers to listen to your ideas and that's added value right there.

They don't have to "make time" for it. They can be driving to and from work or taking a shower and be learning a little bit about whatever your ebook is about.

Think of how much more your profits would be if you tacked on just an extra 50% or 75% to the price of your product. Think about how beneficial it would be to not only get more money per sale, but more overall customers who are happy and ready to buy from you again.

Believe me, the small amount of time it takes to do this one simple thing will be more than worth it in the end. I see it all the time not only with my own business, but my clients' businesses, too.
