How To Erase Data From Hard Drive

In today's world security of your confidential data is very important. If your confidential and precious data get leaked or stolen by unauthorized person then that would be cast you lot. Deleting data from hard drive does not insure permanently removing data from hard drive. There are several situation in which you need to permanently erase data from hard drive:

Situations:

1) You are going to sell your computer system.
2)You are donating your computer system.
3)You are recycling or disposing the hard drives or any other electronic storage media.
4)You are reconstructing or going to stop your business.

In all above situation you need to erase your data from hard drive, so that no one can recover data from that computer system. There are mainly three methods by which you can delete data from your computer system.
1)Delete data by using Del key
2)By formatting hard drive
3)By using third party drive wipe software.


1)Delete data by using Del key: It is easiest way to delete your data, right click on the file or folder and select delete or press Del key or press shift + Del key together. In first two methods deleted data goes in to recycle Bin and last method data does not goes in to recycle bin. If you delete data from recycle bin then you can not restore you data again. But this method does not insure that you data permanently deleted from hard drive. Your data still present in your hard drive and any one can recover by using data recovery software.

2)By formatting hard drive: Common thinking is that Solution of all hard drive related problems in computer system is to format your hard drive. But in the case of wiping hard drive, formatting of hard drive did not insure permanently wiping of your data from hard drive. Your data can recover by any one.

3)By using third party drive wipe software: It is best way permanently erase your data from hard drive. What basically these software do, they did not erase your data but overwrite your data and then delete overwrited data. Now if anyone is going to recover data then he/she will get overwrited data not your original data.
