You have to make a better CV for yourself. Make sure the CV is not very long. The format of the CV should look good. Mention experiences and achievements for a better future and leave out stuff you have gone beyond. There should not be any spelling errors. Check and recheck your CV.

You can visit several job fairs. In these fairs you will be aware of all the latest jobs available in market. People choosing a career should have a clear idea about the field they are opting for. The recent layoff has nothing to do with your performance. You need not worry about it and pull up your socks for bad times do not last long.
