How To Get Wavy Hair

By: alleysmith Home | Health-and-Fitness | Beauty

Are you using your hair care products properly with your curly or wavy hair? It may surprise you to find out that you probably aren't. Here are some easy tips that will show you the proper ways to use your hair care products that allow you to promote your wavy or curly hair. By the end you will be able to keep your lovely curls for a long time to come.

Did you know that simple trim will remove your split ends? And without split ends, you don't have to worry about frizzy hair anymore. Not only that, but it will help straight hair as well, because split ends tend to drag down straight hair, preventing gorgeous curls.

You should already know better to not wash your hair every day with shampoo. Curly, and wavy hair need the natural oils on your scalp to keep their curls, and reduce frizziness. Wash your hair every other day if you have to. But no more than 4 times a week.

Use just a few drops of serum, maybe even less depending on the length and thickness of your hair. Make sure you start at the tips, and work your way up, but do not get any on the scalp you don't want any pesky dandruff to develop now do we? The type of serum is not really all that important.

If it is your first time getting a haircut that is wavy, then you had best let your hairdresser choose an easy to maintain style for you. Preferably one that just requires a wet and go approach to it, and preferably one that has long layers, it creates great shape, and makes it easier to untangle.

An important thing to remember is that when you get your perm done, the chemicals strip your hair of its natural oils, and moisture, so it needs to be replaced. Each morning, make sure you are careful and gently comb your hair, as you do not want to undo the curls. And again, make sure you use products that promote curls, these will be the ones that take out the frizz, and remoisten your hair.

You would emulsify the conditioner in your hands, but before it dries the skin on your hands, apply it to the middle and ends of your hair. This will help bind your hair together, so that it will not separate, as well as encourage the curling of your hair.

Use the 1 inch barrel curling iron to curl your hair. Starting with one section at a time, take 1 inch portion of your hair and wrap it around the barrel of the curling iron.

Remember, this IS NOT traditional curling. DO NOT clip the hair into the barrel and curl it all the way to the root. And when curling, be sure to leave the ends of your hair a bit loose. After about 5-10 seconds, remove the curl. Hold it longer if you want a tighter curl. Now you should have a corkscrew curl.
