When my sister was younger she had unbelievable abs because she was careful about what she ate, restricted her fat intake and did countless ab crunches each day and, although it was very hard work, the results were well worth it. Everything changed however following the birth of her first child when she unexpectedly went extremely soft around the middle, developed noticeable love handles, and could not seem to get rid of the flab regardless of how many diets she went on. As if that was not bad enough she discovered that she was unable to do ab crunches anymore because of severe chronic back pain. She was not prepared however to give in to being out of shape and she resolved that it was time to check out a number of abdominal exercise machines. Abdominal exercise machines are specially designed to target the abs during an exercise routine and almost all machines mimic regular crunch exercises although they are much easier on your body. For instance, most people do crunch exercises lying on their back on the floor with their hands behind their head putting them at risk for back injury. However, this is not a problem with abdominal exercise machines as they place limits on your movement and make you maintain good form in order to operate the machine. For this reason abdominal exercise machines are almost foolproof and allow the remainder of the body a break while you are working on your abs. My sister had watched plenty of late-night infomercials for exercisers but was not ready to rush out and buy one based solely on what she had heard and seen on TV. She did not wish to hear what professional bodybuilders and actors were being paid to tell her but wanted to hear what real people had to say about these exercise machines based upon their own personal experience. So she looked online and discovered a host of consumer reviews of some of the best known abdominal exercisers. She wanted to find out which machines were well-constructed, easy to use, and actually worked on sculpting the abs and which machines would just be a waste of time and money. She also wanted to discover those websites where she could buy the more popular abdominal exercise machines at reasonable prices because the machines are not cheap and any discount which she might be able to find would certainly be a help. One remark she made to me was that she was pleased that she had read the online reviews as one of the machines that she had been thinking about buying was not at all well received by those people who reviewed it. It turns out that the machine in question has one or two significant problems that she would not have found in advance of buying it. Consequently she bought a machine that was quite a way down her list of possibilities but which had nonetheless received very good reviews. The good news is that with her machine she is able to work on her abs three or four times each week without any of the back pain which she had without it. Most importantly, she is now starting to see a reduction in her waist and should shortly be happily back in shape again and feeling much more like her old self.
